The public is invited to the monthly meetings of the Lake-to-Prairie chapter of the Wild Ones, a national not-for-profit organization that promotes the use of native plants in landscapes. 

The Often Unseen Splendor of Ants and Their Roles in Our Lives

Ants are one of the most abundant and important animals on the planet, and they do everything! Lake Forest College biology professor Sean Menke will introduce us to the beauty and diversity of these amazing creatures and the essential roles they play in our world, including their use as tools to improve human society. Sean will also discuss some of the ants commonly found in the Chicagoland area and what we know about the important part they play in these environments as well as how ants can be used as bioindicators of successful habitat restoration projects. 

Registration is required. 

You may attend this program in person at the library, or may attend virtually/online.
