hamsterParade of Pets & Photo ContestAll Ages!

Sunday, September 26, 2:00 p.m.

Sign up to show off your animal buddy at the library! Pets must be small and in cage or carrier. For everyone's safety, no dogs or cats, please. BUT: if you have a dog or cat, or another animal that is better left at home - or no pet at all - you can bring in a picture for our photo gallery, or a stuffed animal to show! To register, call 847-918-3218 or stop at the Youth Services desk. Exhibitors under 8 must be accompanied by a parent. Spectators are invited to drop in and parade past the pets!

Holds now filled differently:

State funding of van delivery, which previously allowed for free transport of materials between libraries, has ended. To try to keep the sharing of materials (Inter-Library Loan) going, changes are being made.

Now when you place a hold it will be filled with your own library's copies only. If your library does not own a holdable copy of the item, it will be filled through ILL from another library.

Since this is an abrupt change there may be longer wait times for holds than before. Your library will do all it can within its budget to purchase more copies of the popular materials. If you feel you are waiting too long for materials, please speak with a librarian.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to adapt to changes in our state's budget.
