Help your Children Be Safe!
Ages 0 - 7
Keep your child in sight at all times. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver at least 13 years of age while they are in the library.
Discuss 'Stranger Danger' with your child. The library is open to the public. Make sure your child knows the proper ways to respond to uncomfortable or threatening situations with strangers.
Any child left too long in the library may become restless, hungry, or tired. We ask that you please remove your children from the library if they are being disruptive.
Ages 8 & Up
Make sure your child comes prepared. Children should bring their own school supplies. A library card is required to check out materials. In the Youth Services area, it costs $0.10 to print one black and white page, and $0.50 to print one color page.
Be sure your child knows all of the telephone numbers where you can be reached. We allow children to use our phone to call home.
Be sure your child has safe transit home from the library. It may not be safe for your child to wait for you outside the library, so check the library's closing time. If a child is alone at closing, we will contact the police to assure the child's safety.
