October Books of the Month:
High School: Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
In a post-apocalyptic world where fences and border patrols guard the people left from the zombies that have overtaken civilization, 15-year-old Benny Imura is finally convinced that he must follow in his older brother’s footsteps and become a bounty hunter. This is one of the better zombie books—it’s a great combination of zombie action and characters that you really care about. It’s a quick read.
Grades 5-8: The Death Collector by Justin Richards
Three teens and a curator of artifacts at the British Museum match wits with a madman determined to use unorthodox methods to reanimate the dead, both humans and dinosaurs. A page-turner, and a creepy blend of horror and mystery.
